The 123rd Annual Tournament of Roses Parade will be held in Pasadena on Monday, January 2, 2012 and this year’s theme will be Just Imagine…
The tradition began in 1890 when Professor Charles Holder suggested holding a festival to tell the world about California. California no longer needs an introduction, but the annual Tournament of Roses Parade is a tradition that Californians love. The first year the parade was held; two thousand people watched flower-covered carriages travel down Colorado Avenue.
Today, a million people turn out every New Year’s Day (this year it will be held on the 2nd because New Years is on a Sunday) to watch dozens of floats, bands and equestrian groups. People will also head into Pasadena to attend the 98th Rose Bowl Game on January 2, 2012. The Wisconsin Badgers will play the Oregon Ducks at 2:10 pm at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
It is a great way to kick off the New Year with performances, beautifully decorated floats, and football in Pasadena.
Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. wishes you a fun and safe New Years!
