Mission Valley’s Remodel Calls for a Party

Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. is pleased to present Mission Valley’s recently remodeled suite in San Diego.  The reception area and hallways throughout the suite have been updated with new furniture, wall covering, and reception desk.  Both tenants and clients have been very pleased with the suite’s contemporary look.

To celebrate, Barrister will be hosting an Open House that will include lunch to local real estate brokers with a raffle and a chance to win an iPad2.  Brokers will have the opportunity to tour the suite and reconnect with tenants they referred to Barrister.  After touring the suite, brokers will continue their confidence in referring clients to Barrister with complete confidence, knowing that at Barrister their clients will be viewing space with beautiful common areas and excellent services.

Brokers frequently refer their clients to Barrister for short or long term space as they wait for their new office to be built out or if their client needs to downsize to smaller space.  Many prospective tenants call commercial brokers looking for the flexibility and amenities that only an executive suite can provide.  Barrister has worked with a  large number of startup companies who need a few offices on a short term lease, but eventually grow their company and staff to the point where they need their own floor or ultimately their own building.

“We have received so much positive feedback on the new look of the reception and common areas,” says Area Manager Michelle Bailey.  “The updated look gives an even better first impression to our clients business.”

Barrister’s Mission Valley location is located in the Hazard Center Office Tower at 7676 Hazard Center Drive, on the 5th Floor in the heart of Hazard Center.   Tenants have convenient access to all the surrounding amenities Hazard Center has to offer such as banking, dry cleaning, fitness, restaurants, medical offices, spa facilities, movie theaters, auto detailing, and hotel accommodations.  Barrister welcomes you to visit soon.

Celebrating Hope and Fighting Back at Relay for Life

Jen Zimmerman, Senior Receptionist at Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. in Westlake Village, will be participating in Relay for Life in Beverly Hills this weekend beginning April 30th.

The American Cancer Association Relay for Life is an event held all over the country throughout the year.  Schools, parks, and fairgrounds are used for teams to walk or run a total of 24 hours around a path.  “Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length,” says the American Cancer Association.  The goal of the event is to remember those who have lost and won the battle against cancer.

Each Relay for Life is slightly different depending on the location holding the event.  But, each event dedicates a lap to Celebrate, Remember, and Fight Back.  The Celebrate Lap, aka “Survivors Lap,” kicks off every Relay.  Survivors are invited to walk the lap during this hour to celebrate their victory over cancer.  It is also a time to remind people that their support saves more lives every year.  The Remember Lap, aka “The Luminaria Ceremony” is held after dark and held in silence.  Participants carry a bag with a lit candle to remember someone touched by cancer.  Finally, the Fight Back Lap is a time for participants to make a personal commitment to continue the fight against cancer.  Each commitment is private to the person, although a group effort to reduce the risk of cancer.

Jen Zimmerman’s team, Team Main Stage, has 15 members who will campout for 24 hours and take turns walking or running the path.   Team Main Stage will be participating in Beverly Hills from 8:30 am on April 30th, and ending at 8:30 on May, 1st.  The day will include themed laps, entertainment, and lunch.  The evening will begin with dinner served by the Firemen and continue with concerts and movies on the big screen.

Barrister tenants and staff in Westlake Village have already shown their support to Jen and Team Main Stage.  Jen and Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. would like to thank Suite Manager Ashley Hutchins, coworker Patricia Olmedo, and tenants Robert Adler, Michael Kushner, Anthony Khoury, Dawn Masters, Jim Reisteter, Doug Minor, Steve Ricklin, Thomas Mahan, Michael Murphy, Kathleen M. Neumann, Mary Kulvinskas, Sue Gray, John Iezza, David Esquibias, Craig Flashner, Mark Davis, Jimmy Gray, and especially Paul Meyer.  With their help, Team Main Stage has raised $1,655.00.  Thank you all so much for your donations, they are very much appreciated!

Barrister Tenant Featured on Hit Reality TV Show

On Sunday, April 10th,  tune into ABC at 8 PM to watch Secret Millionaire for a very special story about current Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. tenant, Beauty Bus Foundation.

Secret Millionaire features some of America’s most successful self-made millionaires.  They will spend a week in the America’s poorest areas and ultimately reward some unsung community heroes with hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money.  Residing in local housing on welfare-level wages, these “secret millionaires” will try to find the most deserving people within the community.

The April 10th show will feature Beauty Bus Foundation as they worked with a volunteer.  The episode will show the volunteer working with Beauty Bus Foundation for one week, only to reveal that she is really a millionaire that would like to donate to Beauty Bus Foundation.  It is a truly moving and uplifting show.

Beauty Bus Foundation has been with Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. since February 2010.  “They inspire us on a daily basis when we see the work they do in the community,” says West Los Angeles Suite Manager Dawn Armstrong.  “They started at Barrister’s West Los Angeles location with two offices, and have now grown to four.  I am so happy to see that they are getting the support that they need to continue helping their terminally ill clients and their caregivers.”  Barrister’s Suite Manager, Dawn Armstrong, knows firsthand.  Her husband was recently diagnosed with cancer.  When Beauty Bus Foundation heard, they extended their services to both Dawn and her husband.

Beauty Bus Foundation serves chronically ill or terminally ill clients and their caregivers with in-home beauty services including hair, makeup, manicures and pedicures.  “Our goal is to offer reprieve and a few moments of pampering to these remarkable individuals,” as stated on their website.

Barrister’s Davidson Races to Benefit Her San Diego Community

Barrister Sales Manager Deborah Davidson and partner Kathyrn Widdoss compete in The Amazing Race to Serve.

Barrister’s Leasing Manager Deborah Davidson has an amazing experience to share around the water cooler with tenants and colleagues.

Davidson recently participated in “The Amazing Race to Serve” on January 29th. The day-long event is organized by San Diego’s North Coast Church, and is based on the popular television show, “The Amazing Race.”

Described by organizers as a fun and interactive scavenger hunt on steroids, 240 two-person teams raced a 10-mile scavenger hunt from the Oceanside Pier to the North Coast Church Vista Campus.

The event generated over $28,000 in support of the church’s upcoming “Weekend of Service” in May, a project to help North County residents.

“It was a great way to feel more involved in the San Diego community and to help raise funds for a great cause,” says Davidson.

Davidson and her partner completed the race and answered all clues in an impressive time of 4.5 hours.

Afternoon Tea at Barrister Serves as Opportunity to Network

TEA PARTY 004          TEA PARTY 010            TEA PARTY 013

The Mad Hatter wasn’t present for the recent tea party held at our Century City location, but the laughter and good times flowed just the same.

Barrister tenants and staff gathered for an End of Summer Afternoon Tea networking event. While tea was served and finger sandwiches were passed, tenants mingled and utilized the opportunity to exchange business cards.

The afternoon was also a great opportunity to welcome new tenants and learn about one another’s business or practice.

Barrister Assistant Vice President Jacqui White drew from her British background for the idea of tea in the afternoon.

“We had a tremendous turnout,” White said.  “Numerous tenants have expressed how much they enjoyed the opportunity to mingle and relax.”
